Email Account Lookup
An email account lookup tells you which online accounts are tied to a given email address. Paste the address, and Holehe queries 200+ websites, social, developer, shopping, gaming, music, and reports, for each one, whether an account exists.
What an email account lookup returns
For every email you scan, you get a consolidated report with:
- A Found / Not Found verdict for each of the 200+ supported sites
- A category breakdown, social, developer, shopping, gaming, music…
- Counters showing how active the email is across the open web
- Direct links into each platform where the address is registered
Nothing private is exposed: Holehe never logs in, never guesses passwords, never scrapes gated content. It only reads what each site already says about a sign-up attempt.
Why it's useful
- Fraud and trust-and-safety, distinguish a real, long-lived address from a freshly minted throwaway.
- OSINT and investigations, map a subject's digital footprint quickly, then pivot into the highest-value platforms.
- B2B and sales research, confirm a prospect is actually present on the platforms you care about.
- Personal security audit, find the forgotten accounts still tied to your own address.
Coverage at a glance
The 200+ supported sites span every major category an email can be registered on:
- Social, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat…
- Developer, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, npm, Stack Overflow…
- E-commerce, eBay, Etsy, Amazon-adjacent, Adobe, Booking, Airbnb…
- Gaming, Steam, Twitch, Riot, Epic, Discord, Roblox…
- Music & media, Spotify, Deezer, SoundCloud, Last.fm…
- Productivity & SaaS, Trello, Asana, Atlassian, HubSpot, Notion…
How to run an email account lookup
- Open the Holehe console on the home page.
- Paste an email, just the address.
- Watch results stream in across categories as each module returns.
- Click any "Found" entry to jump to the platform and continue your investigation.
Limits to know about
- Some sites are deliberately silent about whether an account exists, those will appear as "Not Found" even if the email is registered there
- Rate-limited entries are not a verdict; rerun the scan after a few minutes
- New sites are added regularly; coverage today won't exactly match coverage a year from now
- Use the tool only on addresses you are authorised to investigate
FAQ
- Is the email account lookup free?
- Yes, it runs from your browser, no install. New accounts get a starting credit balance; afterwards you pay per scan with credits, no subscription.
- Does it work on Gmail, Outlook, Proton and custom domains?
- Yes. Holehe treats the address as data, the email provider doesn't change what the lookup does. You get the same 200+ site coverage either way.
- Can the person whose email I scanned see that I looked them up?
- No. Holehe reads each site's public sign-up response. It does not interact with the email account itself, send any message, or notify anyone.
